You will hold a degree or have substantial experience of working within a policy, engagement or communications environment (not necessarily all three). You’ll take a forward thinking digital approach to strategy, proactively taking the lead to deliver results and confidently deal with complex issues.

Your expert stakeholder management skills will mean you are able to build effective relationships with senior leaders to influence decision making. The ability to analyse and interrogate data, presenting information in a clear and accessible manner is essential to the role. As is your strong verbal, written, digital and pictorial communication skills.

You’ll be working in a fast paced environment, with constant conflicting priorities so understanding the organisation’s direction of travel and ambitions for the next 3-5 years, including knowledge of the political and economic environment the Council is operating within is crucial to the role. Alongside this, your dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace and commitment to continuous learning will mean you are able to work collaboratively at all levels across the organisation in order to drive improvement.
