The Role

Camden has a vision for the future of the borough, where everyone contributes to achieving a safe, fair, creative and active community.  A vital part of this is ensuring we are a truly inclusive organisation that encourages diversity in all respects, including diversity of thinking. By doing this, we will ensure we continue to represent our communities to the best of our ability and deliver our ambitions for Camden.

We will continue our development as an agile council, where flexible working brings benefits for staff and for our work whilst we also prize collaborative approaches and working across traditional boundaries.

We have great a great opportunity for a confident and innovative HR professional to develop their experience whilst working for a forward-thinking London council.

As one of Camden’s HR Business Advisors you will be allocated to a ‘patch’ e.g. a division/group of services within our Supporting Communities directorate. You’ll also operate as part of a team, allowing the build-up of greater local knowledge, whilst adopting an OD approach, with the focus moving from symptoms to causes.

This is an exciting, varied and at times challenging role, for which you’ll need to be flexible and have experience of handling and prioritising conflicting business needs.

We’re looking for people with good knowledge (typically gained through a recognised professional qualification e.g. CIPD) of professional HR practice and procedures. You’ll have good working knowledge of employment legislation and trends, with evidence of having planned work over a short to medium term to include contributing to project deliverables.

For this people facing role, you’ll need to be a strong communicator with great influential skills enabling you to build and maintain effective working relationships in order to get things done. You should be open-minded, innovative and creative, open to ideas and challenges and committed to individual learning and development.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Senay Yesil HR Strategic Lead (0207 974 1472)
