Mayor of London’s Good Work Standard

Camden are very proud to be accredited to the level of excellence for the Mayor of London’s Good Work Standard.

The Mayor’s Good Work Standard sets the benchmark for the highest employment standards and demonstrates that as an employer, Camden is contributing to a fairer and more inclusive London. These good practices are also an important step in attracting and retaining a diverse, talented and productive workforce.

GWS were particularly impressed with Camden’s work on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and actions we have taken, especially the publication of our disability pay gap and our continued working partnership with the Business Disability Forum.

What is the Mayor's Good Work Standard?

The Mayor's Good Work Standard brings together best employment practice and links to resources and support from across London to help employers improve their organisations. The initiative has been developed in collaboration with London's employers, professional bodies and experts.

The Good Work Standard sets the benchmark the Mayor wants every London employer to work towards and achieve. Organisations able to meet the Good Work Standard criteria can apply for accreditation and recognition as leading employers from the Mayor.

Timewise

Camden became the country’s first ever Timewise Council in March 2014. This means that we champion flexible and part-time working, using our own practice as an example to other employers in the public and private sector.

Camden wants to be a leader in flexible and part-time working, allowing people to balance work with other commitments and needs.

At Camden we are proud to be one of Hire Me My Way’s inaugural campaign supporters. Hire Me My Way is a national campaign led by Timewise, designed to increase the volume of good quality jobs that can be worked flexibly in the UK (www.HireMeMyWay.org.uk). Hire Me My Way aims to treble the number of available good quality flexible jobs to 1 million by 2020.
